Trophies

More than one hundred years ago , some french sailors gathered around german trophies .

Those guys , even described as "sailors", were  actually  belonging to naval infantry , or french marine corps , an infantry force that specialized  in the support of naval and army operations on land.

A seaport in the neighbourhood

Tomorrow the lockdown will come to its end.

Well , we must still stay outside no more than three hours long, and go away no more than 20 kms far, but , well , that's already a great feeling of liberty !

I was in the lovely city of Menton five weeks ago  , from now on I'll be able to go back there again.

Joy!!

Slowly back

Almost a month since I did not post.
Meanwhile , october was awful here,
with a second storm , a violent  attack here in my town ,
and then back to lockdown.
I must confess that I've lost much of my blogging energy.
This picture shows how I feel:
there's a fence between what I want and what I can .
I've a few pictures left to post ,
and then,... I don't know.
The year is almost done, definitively not the best one of our lifes.
There are many things that seem to be more important than blogging.
I have no idea about tomorrows.
One day after the other…

Take a good care of you and your beloved.

xoxo

About Alex

Some days ago , a storm called Alex reached my part of the country, here in South of France.
During two days , we received rain and winds from the sky.
On the shore ,even if impressive,  things had nothing unusual at this time of the year.
But in the mountains behind, it was hell..
Villages has been destroyed, people died or disappeared , houses, bridges , roads , cemeteries, were taken away by the rivers .Water and mud covered everything, destroyed everything. There are no more communications available, be it by road, phone , internet. No more electricity, no more drinkable water, no more heat, no more food..
I've heard that even during the Second World War there had been less destructions than during those two days.
Since last monday, people from the shore are trying to help, assist , rescue, offering any kind of assistance to those who lost everything. From the airport, helicopters fly towards the mountains with water , food and clothes, and come back with people who need care.
If I tell you that, it's only to make you understand that I'm not currently in the right mood for blogging.
We're trying to do what we can to give some help. It's stressful, and tiring . And it comes with the C.virus, which is still there around…
I'll come back to blogs when I'll be able to do it.
Take a good care of you, enjoy every moment with the ones you love. Things can change very quickly.
With all my friendship,
Malyss

Beauty's back

First time I saw the Belem was in the early eighties.
So we have a long story together.
In those times, the boat was almost a ruin, ready to be destroyed.
But a famous french bank decided to save it, and now, look at it!

I visited the Belem in many harbours, saw its revival through the years.

Which explains  why I have this feeling,
of seeing an old friend.
If having a hug with a boat was possible,
I would have the Belem in my arms!

Yellow Week-end

While a very , very big boat was taking  a rest in the harbour…

… some men were racing on their bikes ,
 starting the TOUR DE FRANCE!
