Once upon a time , 

old pictures were black and white;

But sometimes , somehow , some people wanted to see them in colors..

Festival de Cannes

Today is the last day of the worldwide  famous 

FESTIVAL DE CANNES 

But long before becoming the city of movies , stars and glamour , 

the place was a simple  harbour for fishermen.

Later, during the XIXth century, 

the town began to attract tourists and painters, 

both loving its light and its beauty.

Let's not forget our roots !

 

Between two festivals

 

 

 

 

Here is the "Vieux port " (Old Harbour),

located in Cannes ,

 under the oldest part of the city,

The hill of Le Suquet.

The tower of the Musée de la Castre.

The museum was a former castle built by the monks  of

the abbey of the Islands of  Lérins

 during the XIth century.

(Those  islands are right in front of the city )

Travelling through my bookshelves

 I can't go out anymore ,but I know a perfect way to go on travelling.

My books have always been my best friends, my solace , my solution!
