I know just what you mean by the crowd watching the Tour de France. We have followed the Tour for many years, and I have always wondered why people go to such lengths to watch the peloton whiz past in a few seconds. Of course there are all the advertisers that proceed the bike riders, and the team cars that follow. At least a parade lasts for half an hour or more.
